As NEIGHBORHOOD and adidas reach the two decade mark of their partnership together, they have turned back time to pay homage to where it all began. Back in 2005, the two collaborated on the adidas Superstar in celebration of the silhouette’s 35th anniversary, producing a mere 300 pairs that collectors continue to track down.
Now, in celebration of NEIGHBORHOOD’s 30th anniversary, the two are gearing up to drop a recreation of the legendary design. Having just released a collaborative “Cement Gray” take on the Superstar with modern motifs, this “Ink Black” pair stays true to its roots. The black upper hosts a white “NEIGBORHOOD” hit above the tonal Three Stripes, as well as the brand’s skull and sword logo at the lateral heel. Black also dresses the NEIGHBORHOOD-branded dubrae and the shell toe while the sole unit arrives in an aged off-white. Alternate lace sets of white and black with white repeating “NEIGHBORHOOD” text are included as well.
Release for the NEIGHBORHOOD x adidas Superstar in this “Ink Black” colorway is set to take place on June 21 via adidas and select retailers at a price of $160 USD, with HBX set to release the pair on June 22.
